Bhai Sati Das was the brother of Bhai Mati Das, and like him he served Guru Tegh Bahadur with all his heart.
When trouble came, he was given many chances to walk away and save himself. But he would not leave his Guru's side, and he would not pretend to believe something his heart did not feel.
He stood firm with quiet dignity, choosing loyalty and truth over safety, and his name is remembered with love to this day.
