Sweet Is Your Will

Guru Arjan faced terrible hardship for his beliefs, treated with great cruelty by those in power who wished him to change his message. Yet through it all, he never grew angry or bitter.

Instead, he stayed perfectly calm, peaceful, and loving, repeating from his heart, “Sweet is Your will, O God; I ask only for the gift of Your name.”

His gentle courage in the face of suffering, never returning hate for hate, has inspired people ever since to meet hardship with peace.
