Standing Up for Others' Freedom

A group of frightened Kashmiri Pandits came to Guru Tegh Bahadur. They were being forced to give up their own religion against their will, and they did not know where to turn.

The Guru was moved by their plight. Though they followed a different faith from his own, he chose to stand up for their freedom to worship as they believed.

He gave everything to defend the simple right of all people to follow their own faith in peace — a courage so great that he is remembered as a protector of all.
