Kabir was a humble weaver who spent his days at his loom, weaving cloth thread by thread. As his hands worked, his heart sang simple, beautiful songs about one loving God who lives in everyone.
He used the everyday things of his trade — thread, cloth, the spinning wheel — to teach great truths in words even children could understand.
Rich and learned people came to argue with him, but his honest, humble wisdom left them with nothing to say. His songs are treasured in the Guru Granth Sahib to this day.
