A group of forty followers, tired and discouraged, once turned back and left the Guru's side. When a brave woman named Mai Bhago heard of it, she was determined to set things right.
She rallied the forty, reminding them of their courage and their promise, and led them — riding at their head — back to stand by the Guru once more.
They returned and gave their all. The Guru lovingly blessed them as the ‘Forty Liberated Ones,’ and honoured Mai Bhago's bravery. Even those who falter, the story shows, can find their courage again.
