One afternoon, while young Nanak was lost in thought, the cattle he was minding wandered into a neighbour's field and ate the green crops. The angry farmer complained to the landlord, Rai Bular.
Nanak said gently, “Please look again — God will protect the poor farmer's field.” When they went to see, the story says the crop stood tall and untouched, as green and full as before.
Rai Bular was astonished and paid the farmer himself, just in case. Again he saw that this quiet boy was blessed in a way he could not explain.
