Three Days by the River

Each morning Nanak would bathe in the river Bein. One day he waded in and did not come out, and his worried friends searched the banks for three days, fearing the worst.

On the third day Nanak returned, calm and shining with a deep peace. His first words became famous: that, in God's eyes, there is ‘no Hindu and no Muslim’ — only one human family, all children of one God.

From that day he set out to share this simple, loving message everywhere: that all people are equal, and that the heart's kindness matters more than any label.

🌱 A thought to carry away

We are all one human family — kindness matters more than the labels we wear.
