Pipa was a king with a grand palace and every comfort. But the more he learned of God and of the humble saints, the more he longed for that simple, loving life.
So he gave up his crown, his riches, and his palace, and went to live humbly, serving others and singing to God with the very saints he admired.
He found far more happiness in his simple, helpful life than he ever had on his golden throne. His hymns, too, are honoured in the Guru Granth Sahib.
