Sain was a barber who served a king by day, but his true joy was singing to God and serving holy travellers and the poor with all his heart.
One morning, lost in welcoming and caring for some weary guests, he was late to the palace. Yet his loving service to those in need was, to him, the highest duty of all.
The story tells that his devotion was so dear to God that his work was quietly looked after for him. His humble service was remembered, and his songs joined the Guru Granth Sahib.
