The Jewel of Contentment
A man travelled far to ask a Sikh teacher for the secret of happiness. He expected to be told about gold, or land, or a fine house.
Instead the teacher spoke of santokh — contentment. A heart at peace with what it has, he said, is richer than a king who always wants more.
Want less, share more, and be grateful, the teacher told him. That contentment is a jewel no thief can steal and no fire can burn.
🌱 A thought to carry away
A grateful, contented heart is the greatest treasure of all.
