Bhagat Trilochan spent long hours in prayer, longing to feel God's presence. One day, deep in meditation, he was interrupted by a tired, hungry traveller knocking at his door.
At first he felt annoyed at being disturbed. But then he understood: caring for the guest in front of him was itself a way of serving God. He rose at once and welcomed the traveller warmly.
He learned that we need not search far for the divine — it stands, often, right at our own door, in the form of someone who needs our kindness.
