One morning Nanak entered the river Bein and slipped beneath its waters. For three days all believed him drowned. He rose again radiant, and his first words were, “There is no Hindu, no Muslim” — meaning all are children of one God. The darkness within him had turned wholly to light.

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, He is pervading everywhere.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ; ਸਚੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥

By Guru's Grace, we come to behold the True One; from the True One, peace is obtained. ||6||
ਸਚੁ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ; ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ; ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
sadaa sach nihachal; aavai na jaae |

ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮੁਸਤਕਿਲ ਹੈ, ਊਹ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।

The True One is Eternal and Unchanging; He does not come and go in reincarnation.
ਸਚੇ ਲਾਗੈ. ਸੋ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ; ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥

ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਊਹ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਅਪੇਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those who are attached to the True One are immaculate and pure. Through the Guru's Teachings, they merge in the True One. ||7||
ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ; ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
sach saalaahee; avar na koee |
