ਜਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਲ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਸ ਜਗਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮੰਤਵ ਦੀ) ਹੋਸ਼ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

When the Lord puts him to sleep, he remains asleep; when He wakes him up, he regains consciousness.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੇਕਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਧਾਰੇ, ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, when the Lord casts His Glance of Grace, He causes him to meet the True Guru.
