The Elephant Who Called for Help

Gajendra, the king of the elephants, waded into a lake to pluck a lotus. Suddenly a powerful crocodile seized his leg and would not let go.

For a long time the mighty elephant struggled with all his strength, but he could not break free. At last, tired and humble, he lifted his trunk holding a lotus and cried out to God for help.

At once Vishnu came and freed him. Gajendra learned that even the strongest sometimes need to ask for help — and that a sincere call is always heard.
