Draupadi, a noble queen, was once treated cruelly in a great hall, with no one to protect her. In her fear she did not call for soldiers — she called out to her friend Krishna with her whole heart.
As she was being shamed, her sari began to lengthen. However much the cruel men pulled, more cloth appeared — yards and yards of it — until they grew tired and ashamed and gave up.
Krishna had answered her silent call. He was not even in the room, yet his care reached her exactly when she needed it most.
