Little Krishna and the Butter

In the village of Gokul there lived a little boy named Krishna, with dark, twinkling eyes and a smile that melted everyone's heart. More than anything in the world, Krishna loved fresh butter.

His mother Yashoda hung the butter pots high from the ceiling, far out of reach. But Krishna was clever. He would gather his friends, build a tall tower by climbing on each other's shoulders, and reach the pot — sharing the butter with everyone, even the monkeys!

One day Yashoda caught him with butter all over his face. “Did you steal the butter?” she asked, trying to look stern. Krishna opened his eyes wide and said, “No, Mother — the butter jumped into my hands all by itself!” Yashoda wanted to scold him, but his innocent face made her laugh instead, and she hugged him close.
