Shravan Carries His Parents

Shravan Kumar's parents were old and could no longer see well or walk far. They wished, before the end, to visit the holy places.

So Shravan made two baskets, seated his mother in one and his father in the other, balanced them across his shoulders on a pole, and carried them himself, on foot, across the whole land.

He cared for their every need without a word of complaint, glad simply to give them joy. His name is still spoken with love as the very picture of a devoted child.
