King Vishwamitra once visited the hermitage of the sage Vasishtha, who fed the king's whole army a magnificent feast — all provided by his gentle wishing-cow, Nandini.
The king wanted the marvellous cow for himself and tried to take her by force with all his soldiers. But goodness cannot be seized that way, and his armies could not move her.
Humbled, Vishwamitra realised that the sage's quiet spiritual strength was greater than any army. He gave up his crown to seek that inner strength himself.
