The Elephants and the Grateful Mice

A herd of elephants used to cross a field where many mice lived, and their great feet accidentally crushed the little homes. The mouse king begged the elephants to find another path, and the kind elephants agreed.

Some time later, hunters trapped the whole elephant herd in strong ropes and nets. The elephants were helpless.

Remembering the elephants' kindness, the mice came in their thousands and gnawed through every rope, setting the great creatures free. Small friends had saved the mighty.
