The Little Fish and the Flood

A good man named Manu once scooped up a tiny fish that begged to be saved from bigger fish. He kept it in a pot, but it grew and grew, so he moved it to a pond, then a river, then the sea.

The fish, who was Vishnu in disguise, warned Manu: “A great flood is coming. Build a boat, and gather the seeds of all living things.” Manu did exactly as he was told.

When the waters rose, the giant fish towed Manu's boat safely through the storm until the flood passed and life could begin again.
