A proud lion was eating so many animals that the forest creatures begged him to stop. They promised to send him one animal each day if he would hunt no more. The lion agreed.
One day it was a little rabbit's turn. The rabbit arrived very late and told the angry lion, “Another lion in a well claimed to be king and stopped me.” Furious, the lion roared, “Show me this rival!”
The rabbit led him to a deep well. The lion looked in, saw his own reflection, and — thinking it a rival — leapt in to fight it. That was the end of the bully, thanks to one small clever rabbit.
