The Songs That Floated

The gentle saint Tukaram wrote beautiful songs of devotion. Some people who disliked them forced him to throw all his notebooks into the river, and they sank from sight.

Heartbroken, Tukaram sat by the riverbank and waited, singing softly, trusting in God rather than arguing or fighting.

After many days, the story says, the notebooks rose to the surface, their pages unharmed and dry. His faith had kept his songs safe, and people loved them all the more.
