Long ago a man made his living robbing travellers in the forest. One day a sage asked him, “Will your family share in the wrong you do to feed them?” The robber went home and asked — and they said no.
Shaken, he sat down to change his life completely, repeating a single sacred sound until he sat so still that ant-hills rose around him. From that, people called him Valmiki, ‘born of the ant-hill.’
He became a great poet, and it was Valmiki who composed the Ramayana — the very story of Rama. A life can turn around entirely, the tale says, when the heart truly decides to change.
