A Purana of Vishnu
Vishnu Purana
विष्णुपुराण
Told as a dialogue between the sage Parāśara and his disciple Maitreya, the Vishnu Purana unfolds the origin and dissolution of the universe, the lineages of gods, sages and kings, the geography of the worlds, and the life of Kṛṣṇa. Among the most cohesive of the eighteen great Puranas, it is read here in six books — aṃśas — one chapter at a time.
